The Kelowna 'Gifts to Grandmothers' are a group of dedicated volunteers who raise funds to assist vulnerable woman and children of Africa. One specially targeted group who are assisted are the many grandmothers that are placed in the position of having to raise the millions of HIV/AIDS orphans.
Our organization has been in existence since 2007 and our main fundraiser is through the sale of a variety of hand made designer bags. Presently we have for sale: tote bags, slouch bags, 'hippie' bags, mini bags, shoe or wine bags and skirt purses for little girls. Photos and descriptions of these bags are featured on our 'Fundraisers' Page.
One hundred percent of the sales profit goes directly to improve women's lives through micro-loans, feeding programs, sponsorship for school children, housing, health and education issues.
Kelowna Gifts to Grandmothers continues to carefully research each project while maintaining close communication and contact with our 'partners on the ground'. We are always considering and pursuing further opportunities that are committed to assisting and empowering African women and children.
